Scatec Solar wins Climate Prize

We are very proud to receive this award and happy that the jury appreciates a new and innovative business model in the renewable sector,” said Raymond Carlsen, Scatec Solar’s CEO who received the Award from Norway’s Industry Minister Monica Mæland at the Zero Conference.

“Scatec Solar shows that the green shift is all about expertise and technology, but not least that wonderful solutions are worth little if they cannot find their place and be used. The Climate Award makes me a great optimist on behalf of Norway in the green race”, said Kristin Skogen Lund, CEO of the NHO and a member of the Jury.

The Award honours Norwegian enterprises with innovative and profitable business models that drive climate-friendly solutions. An integrated Independent Power Producer with a global footprint, Scatec Solar’s business model covers the entire value chain from development and production of solar energy, ownership, operation and maintenance of solar plants. In several countries, this is an essential criterion for success. Headquartered in Oslo, SSO has ongoing solar projects in the United States, South Africa, Rwanda, Jordan, Czech and Honduras.

“One of the main reasons for optimism in the climate work is the strong growth in solar power. By building up solar power worldwide, Scatec Solar is contributing to permanent emission reductions and helping developing countries to skip the fossil stage of development, says Marius Holm, manager of ZERO.

Apart from Ms. Skogen, the jury included Ingvald Strømmen, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology in NTNU and Marius Holm, leader of ZERO.
