Scatec Solar presenting at Egypt CSR Forum 2017

The Egypt CSR Forum 2017 was held this week in Cairo attracting more than 400 participants with the aim of promoting sustainable development in Egypt. The Egyptian government presented its plans for sustainable development and discussed means of cooperation with the private sector and civil society institutions to find mutually agreed solutions.

Scatec Solar along with several other companies sponsored the event with two speakers addressing the forum; Morten Langsholdt, Scatec Solar’s Country Manager of Egypt, and Kari Mercedes Fremme, Vice President Sustainability. Scatec Solar’s upcoming projects in Ben Ban in Upper Egypt were presented along with the company’s work within sustainability.

In April 2017, Scatec Solar and partners signed 25-year Power Purchase Agreements for delivery of electricity from six solar plants totaling 400 MW (DC) with the Government of Egypt. The projects are part of the 2 GW solar FiT programme launched by the Egyptian Government in 2015. Read more about the projects here.
